Sedona is a hiker's paradise, and the trick is the trailhead parking. The house sits in West Sedona, about 10 minutes from the Posse Grounds Park & Ride, where you can leave the car and catch the free Sedona Shuttle to popular trails like Devil's Bridge and Soldier Pass. Weekend parking fills fast, so use the shuttle when you can; schedules are at sedonashuttle.com. Most Coconino National Forest trailheads near West Sedona, Uptown, the Village of Oak Creek, and Dry Creek Rd need a Red Rock Pass ($5/day, $15/week, $20/year); an America the Beautiful ($80/year) or Golden Age pass works too. The passes don't cover the Arizona state parks (Slide Rock, Red Rock State Park). Buy one at major trailheads or the Red Rock Ranger District office.
